Do You Get A Formula Sheet In The Gamsat?
No you aren't provided with a formula sheet in the Gamsat. However any specific formulae you may need to answer a question will be provided in the question itself.
Gamsat is not testing memorized knowledge it is a test of reasoning skills and in most cases the information you need to answer a question will be provided in the question stem.
However this does not mean you don't need to study the science.
The test administrator ACER itself states that success in the test is unlikely without first year degree knowledge of biology and chemistry and A level (year 12) knowledge of physics.
While it may be possible to work out from first principles and pure reasoning skills how to solve a problem using just the information given in the question stem with no prior knowledge, this is likely to be a losing strategy in the Gamsat.
Doing that for every question will be very time consuming and most likely to lead to you not finishing the test.
And remember in Gamsat you are competing against everyone else. So the person who has studied the science and can get through those questions faster using prior knowledge rather than working everything out from first principles will answer more questions and get more questions correct.
So my advice is to both study the science to the required level and also memorize as many formulae as you can.
